Cover Up

"Give Your Tattoo a Second Chance with the Perfect Cover-Up!"

Tattoo cover-up is a process where a new tattoo design is applied over an existing one, allowing the original tattoo to be effectively hidden beneath a new piece of art. This procedure requires thorough planning, creativity, and expertise, as it involves considering the color, size, and design of the original tattoo. Although tattoos are a "permanent" change to the skin's appearance, today, a skilled tattoo artist can transform an existing tattoo that its owner is not satisfied with, sometimes without and sometimes with the help of additional techniques.

Not every design is automatically suitable for a cover-up. Therefore, it is essential to have a consultation with a tattoo artist in advance. They might recommend lightening the original tattoo with a laser before proceeding with creating a new design.

The procedure for cover-up tattoos is essentially the same as for classic tattoos. The tattoo artist first redraws the outlines of the tattoo to be covered and then creates a new design that perfectly covers the contours of the old tattoo. They then transfer the new lines of the design onto the skin and begin creating. Cover-up tattoos are usually larger than their predecessors and often build on the original motif with a visual upgrade. Sometimes it's enough to just "revive the colors" to give the tattoo new life.

Even though tattoo owners may tire of their tattoo after several years, with a creative approach and a touch of exaggeration, amazing cover-ups can be created.
