Camouflage - Paramedical Permanent MAKEUP
For tattooing areas affected by vitiligo, camouflage shades similar to the skin color are used. Before the tattooing, a consultation and testing on a small, inconspicuous area of skin are performed to determine the skin’s reaction. It is important to mix a pigment shade that matches the skin color.
If you tan with vitiligo, your pigment does not change with tanning. The same applies to tattooing; only healthy skin tans, while the tattooed pigment remains unchanged. However, the advantage is that with vitiligo camouflage, the difference between healthy tanned skin and skin with vitiligo will be less noticeable.
The longevity of paramedical tattooing is individual, and regular maintenance approximately once a year is recommended. This time frame is very individual and depends on the skin’s reaction and the progression of vitiligo.
Blending or Highlighting with Tattooing over Vitiligo
Another option is to cover the vitiligo-affected area with regular tattooing, treating the spots just like any other area, or even highlighting them and incorporating them into a design to create a unique pattern. This method can achieve effects such as a perfect white color, which would otherwise be difficult to tattoo.
