FAQ

Tattooing

Find out the tattoo artist's reviews and portfolio, check the cleanliness and hygiene of the studio and choose someone who has experience with the design you want. It is important that you feel comfortable and trust the tattoo artist.

It is individual. Everyone has a unique metabolism and therefore a different healing time. But healing is also affected by the current condition of the body, so if someone is sick or exhausted, healing can be extended by a few days. In principle, however, healing takes approximately 10 to 14 days. But after 14 days have passed, the tattoo must still be protected from the sun, either by covering it or using a cream with a strong protection factor (>30). It is also advisable to hydrate the tattooed area, e.g. body lotion, preferably with vitamin E. As for piercings, it's very similar. Just in the case of navel piercing and also intimate piercing, healing can be extended by a few weeks.

Yes, it hurts, but it's manageable. It depends on the place that is tattooed or pierced. More painful places are areas with softer, more sensitive skin (neck, inner side of arms and legs, groin,... , or places on the body where there is a bone immediately nearby (clavicle, elbow, knee, ankle, ribs,...) . The pain itself can be described as burning, gentle cutting,... of course, everyone has a different pain threshold and therefore the feeling of pain is different. However, it is not a terrible thing, as evidenced by the growing population of tattooed and pierced people.

Keep the tattoo clean and dry. Wash it with a mild antibacterial soap and apply a thin layer of a special cream or ointment recommended by your tattoo artist. Avoid direct sunlight, baths and swimming.

It is not recommended to get a tattoo when you are sick or have a weakened immune system, because your body needs energy to fight the disease and the healing of the tattoo may be slowed down.

Yes, some people may have an allergic reaction to certain pigments or substances in tattoo ink. If you are concerned, consult your tattoo artist before getting a tattoo.

Most tattoo artists do not recommend tattooing during pregnancy or breastfeeding due to the increased risk of infection and possible side effects for mother and baby.

Remove the foil in which your new tattoo is wrapped on the third to fifth day before going to bed and wash it thoroughly with antibacterial soap. Peel off the foil under warm water (the foil will be harder to come off, but that's not a problem). After washing, do not put the foil back on!

For the first three days after removing the foil, wash the tattooed area with antibacterial soap 3 times a day. DO NOT cream while washing with antibacterial soap! You start applying the cream (Tattoo oinment Calcium Panthotencium, Bepanthen plus) only on the third day after the tattoo, once, maximum 2 times a day, while applying the cream in small quantities and rubbing it thoroughly into the skin so that no greasy film remains on it. For the first 10 days after the tattoo, do not soak the area in water (swimming pool, bathtub, natural bodies of water, sauna), only shower. Do not expose the area to the sun (or solarium) for one month.

Avoid sports and physical activities for the first 5 days after the tattoo. Avoid mechanical damage to the new tattoo and also do not pick scabs from it. When using Tattoo Goo cosmetics, follow the enclosed instructions for use.

Tattoo Removal

Yes, tattoos can be removed using laser therapy.

Laser tattoo removal uses high-intensity pulses of light energy to break down tattoo pigments into smaller particles. These particles are then naturally absorbed and removed by the body's immune system.

Yes, the PicoSure laser is effective for removing a wide range of tattoo colors, including both dark and light shades. It is particularly effective on blue, green and red colors, which tend to be more difficult to remove with other methods.

Feelings during the treatment vary depending on each person's pain threshold, but are often described as feeling like a rubber band snapping on the skin. However, to minimize pain, we use a cooling stream of air during the entire procedure, or it is possible to use an anesthetic cream.

The number of treatments required depends on the size, color, depth and age of the tattoo. Most tattoos require 4 to 8 sessions, usually at 6 to 8 week intervals.

Yes, the PicoSure laser allows selective treatment, which means that only part of the tattoo can be removed, for example to correct a mistake or remove unwanted details.

Yes, most people can return to normal activities immediately after treatment. However, it is recommended to avoid direct sunlight, hot baths and vigorous exercise for a few days after treatment to minimize the risk of complications.

The PicoSure laser is designed to minimize the risk of scarring. As long as you follow the post-treatment skin care instructions, the risk of scarring is very low.

The PicoSure laser is considered a safe method, but as with any treatment, side effects can occur. Among the most common are temporary redness, swelling, blisters or changes in skin pigmentation. These effects are usually mild and disappear quickly.

Yes, after the skin has completely healed, a new tattoo can be applied to the place where the old tattoo was removed. However, it is recommended to wait at least a few months for the skin to fully recover.

The cost of a PicoSure laser treatment varies depending on the size and complexity of the tattoo. For an accurate estimate of costs, it is best to have a consultation in our studio.

Piercing

The sensation of pain varies according to the location of the piercing and each person's individual pain threshold. Most people describe the feeling of piercing as a quick prick followed by mild discomfort.

A new piercing should be cleaned twice a day with a saline solution or a special cleanser recommended by the piercer. Avoid touching the piercing with dirty hands and minimize handling to prevent infection.

Healing time depends on the location of the piercing. Earlobes usually take 6 to 8 weeks to heal, while cartilage piercings such as helix or tragus can take 3 to 9 months or longer. Body parts such as the belly button can take up to 6 to 12 months to heal.

It is recommended to leave the original jewelry in the piercing during the entire healing period. Replacing jewelry too soon can damage tissue and prolong healing time or cause infection. After healing, you can change the jewelry at any time. However, if you don't wear any jewelry for a long time, the piercing can close, especially with newer piercings. Some places, such as the earlobe, can stay open longer, but even these can close over time.

In some cases, the body may reject the piercing, especially with surface piercings where the jewelry is visible under the skin. Rejection is manifested by the body gradually pushing the jewelry outwards. If you notice this process, you should remove the piercing and consult a piercer.

The choice of jewelry depends on the location of the piercing and your personal preference. It is recommended to use hypoallergenic materials such as titanium, surgical steel or gold to minimize the risk of allergic reactions.

If problems such as pain, redness, pus or swelling occur, you should contact your piercer immediately. Try not to touch the piercing with dirty hands and strictly follow the care instructions.

Yes, piercings can be prone to infections if not properly cared for. Symptoms of infection include redness, swelling, pain, warmth in the piercing area, and purulent discharge. If you suspect an infection, you should contact your piercer or doctor.

During the first weeks after the piercing, it is best to avoid swimming in the pool, the sea or using the sauna to reduce the risk of infection. If you have to bathe, it is a good idea to cover the piercing with a waterproof patch.

The same applies as with tattoos - care for your piercing does not end when you leave our studio. Below, we outline how to take care of a fresh piercing.

Right after getting a piercing, the area may become red or swollen. There's no need to worry, as this is a common occurrence that should disappear within three days at most. The piercing requires care - we recommend TATTOO GOO products, which you can purchase from us. Unfortunately, unlike tattoos, there are no commonly available alternatives for piercings. Avoid touching the piercing with your hands, and prevent any contact with foreign objects for at least a week. Also, do not subject it to mechanical stress, pulling, or other similar influences. The healing time for a piercing directly depends on its location, for example:

  • Tongue, eyebrow, nose, ear: about 2 weeks
  • Lips, chin, and navel: about 4 to 6 weeks Do not remove the piercing for at least 1 month or until it has healed. If removed, it may not be possible to reinsert it in its original place. The piercing area should be washed with antibacterial soap.

We also offer jewelry made from titanium, which does not cause allergic reactions as can happen with other materials like surgical steel, silver, or gold.
