A tattoo convention is a lovely gathering of tattoo enthusiasts and professionals, where visitors can get to know various tattoo studios, artists, and experience the world of tattooing up close. At the event, visitors can purchase tattoo-related items directly on-site or even beautify their bodies with a new tattoo.
Overall, tattoo conventions are the cornerstone of the tattoo community, especially for those who promote new progressive thinking and aim to familiarize the audience better with their work.
Thus, at IvanTATTOOKOŠICE, we decided to embark on a challenging but exciting journey of organizing a Tattoo Convention from 2012 to 2015. Our goal was not only to present the world of tattooing but also to expand its dimensions by incorporating other forms of art. We wanted visitors to have the opportunity to see and experience how tattooing interacts with other art forms. Our vision was ambitious – to create a platform where artists could meet, share their experiences, and inspire each other. We wanted Tattoo Convention Košice to be a place where different art forms converged, including music, fine arts, performance, and many others. Tattooing is a fantastic form of self-expression in itself, but we knew its potential was much greater when combined with other artistic expressions.
Organizing the first event in 2012 was full of challenges. We had to secure a venue, gain the support of artists and enthusiasts, and, of course, prepare a rich program that would attract a wide range of visitors. Despite all the obstacles, we did not give up and successfully opened the doors to the first Tattoo Convention Košice. Each subsequent year was an opportunity for us to improve and expand our horizons. From 2013 to 2015, we introduced new elements that further enriched the experience for our visitors. We featured art exhibitions, concerts, workshops, and live performances. Our goal was to show that tattooing is just one of many ways to express creativity and individuality. One of the most important aspects of our work was building a community. Our events attracted not only local but also international artists who brought new techniques and styles. The collaboration between various artistic disciplines created a unique atmosphere where everyone felt part of something bigger.
Tattoo Convention Košice from 2012 to 2015 was more than just a series of events. These were years full of creativity, innovation, and unforgettable experiences. We are proud of what we have achieved, and if family and work commitments allow it in the future, we look forward to new opportunities to bring art and tattooing closer to the people.
These years taught us that even the greatest challenges can be overcome if we have a clear vision and determination. We believe that our efforts have inspired many and that the spirit of the Tattoo Convention will continue to live on in Košice in the future.
