Scalp micropigmentation, also known as hair tattooing technique, cosmetic replication of hair follicles, or even "micro hair technique," is a non-invasive way to cover bald spots or thinning areas on the head without surgery for both men and women. This procedure uses fine needles to apply microscopic patches of color directly to the scalp. This procedure can effectively conceal missing hair and create the appearance of thicker hair or a shaved head. It can enhance areas like the hairline, forehead, crown, or even the entire scalp. The price of the tattoo depends on the final area of micropigmentation.
This method can create the appearance of thicker hair for people who have:
- Alopecia areata
- An autoimmune disease that causes hair loss
- Hair loss related to chemotherapy
- Hair loss in women
- Hormonal conditions that cause hair loss, including polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)
- Male pattern baldness, receding hairline, or baldness on the crown of the head
- Thinning hair or visible scalp
Aftercare for Micropigmentation
It is the same as tattoo aftercare, plus we recommend not shaving your head with a razor for at least 2 weeks. The effect of non-falling hair lasts approximately 2 years, after which the tattoo needs to be renewed. During this time, continued hair loss is expected, so it is necessary for new areas on the head. When adding, the color of the original hair tattoo is also often refreshed.
Note
Scalp micropigmentation does not cause hair growth or alter your natural hair growth. It is not a treatment for hair loss. It also does not cause hair loss or damage your existing hair follicles.
