Piercing against insomnia, allergies and during menopause

Insomnia, or sleeplessness, isn't just about having trouble falling asleep. It can also manifest as waking up early in the morning and being unable to fall back asleep. Frequent awakenings during the night are also common. Some insomniacs experience nocturnal wakefulness, practically swapping day and night. This condition is medically known as paradoxical insomnia.

The connection between the Helix piercing, which is on the outer upper cartilage edge of the ear, and insomnia, stress, and depression also falls within the realm of Chinese medicine. This piercing is best for those suffering from insomnia due to depression and/or stress. Stimulation of the nerves in this area alleviates insomnia and, in some cases, allergies. The location where the Helix is typically pierced also contains a point known as the allergy point, which is said to relieve allergy symptoms such as nasal congestion or sore throat when stimulated or pierced. For a more effective approach, two to three Helix piercings are done in each ear.

In the upper part of the ear cartilage, there are two suitable locations for Helix piercing that provide acupuncture-like treatment. The first is known as the Helix, located directly above the Tragus on the front side of the ear facing forward. The second, known as the Anti-helix, is situated under the ear cartilage. Both locations help with sleep issues and nerve relaxation.

Menopause, also known as the transitional period, is a natural state that affects every woman. With the disruption of hormonal balance come various physical and psychological symptoms, including mood swings, hot flashes, and headaches. While traditional treatments can help manage these symptoms, there are also alternative approaches that offer relief. One of them is the anti-helix piercing.

The Anti-helix piercing, located in the cartilage part of the ear, is increasingly used not only as a fashion statement but also as a means to alleviate the unpleasant symptoms of menopause. Similar to acupuncture, this type of piercing stimulates specific points that can help restore hormonal balance and improve overall well-being.
