The Visionary with Ink: Ivan
Ivan was always fascinated by the world of art. From childhood, he spent hours drawing on paper, walls, and anywhere he could. When he reached high school, his passion for art deepened. This time, however, it wasn’t just about pencils, crayons, and sprays—he began exploring the world of tattooing. He first experimented with ink, naturally, on himself. His passion for tattooing quickly gained attention among classmates, friends, and his family.
In the environment of mandatory military service, amidst structured chaos and disciplined routines, the tattoo odyssey of this young man began to take shape. A boy who found himself drawn into a world dominated by uniformity, yet his spirit longed for expression beyond the ordinary. With a steady hand and an endless well of creativity, Ivan set out to redefine the art of tattooing, one masterpiece at a time. His relentless pursuit of perfection and unwavering dedication to his craft laid the foundation on which IvanTATTO & Laser Košice stands and continues to grow today. At that time, he did not yet realize that his hobby would become his livelihood. The initial beginnings were challenging and varied, and they cannot be compared with the quality of services and facilities offered today.
SCUM TATTOO 2000
Ivan’s talent and aptitude are evidenced by the fact that his clientele gradually began to grow, and his name spread beyond the Košice community. More and more frequently, new, unknown people started reaching out, saying they had heard about him from someone they knew. This impetus led to the creation of the first project, SCUM TATTOO, alongside Marko (incidentally, they have been working together for over 20 years). The studio lasted until 2001 when their paths briefly diverged.
Gathering New Experiences
From 2001 to 2006, Ivan gained experience in various studios in Košice, Bratislava, Prague, and Málaga, Spain. This period brought courage, a broader perspective, new inspirations, and above all, many professional experiences. His confidence and recognition grew, people began to talk publicly about his qualities, and he received his first awards from international competitions.
IVANTATTOO 2007
The year 2007 was pivotal—the establishment of IVANTATTOO, Ivan’s own tattoo studio in Košice, where he and collaborating tattoo artists (yes, including Marko) began to build the brand. They participated in competitions, won, and brought valuable trophies to Košice. Not only Ivan, but also Patrik, Marko, Pepo, Alex, and other tattooists who worked in the studio.
TATTOO KOSICE SHOW
From 2012 to 2015, under the auspices of IVANTATTOO, the Košice TATTOO SHOW was held, attracting many competing studios and individuals, not to mention numerous visitors and successful accompanying events and concerts. Unfortunately, the global pandemic in 2020 ended this tradition. What will happen next, at this moment, as we create a new website and summarize our history, we do not yet know.
IVANTATTOO is a story of enthusiasm, passion, unusual talent, and especially the story of a subculture that has integrated into the everyday life of almost every one of us.
IvanTATTOO & LASER Kosice 2024
The year 2024 is once again pivotal for IvanTATTOO. It is the year when our team moves to new premises, significantly expands its service portfolio, and adopts a name change to better reflect the fact that we are a strong and cohesive team.
At the end of last year, we began searching for new premises that would meet our growing needs and ambitions. We found the ideal place, offering more space for our artists and comfort for our clients. Additionally, we decided to modify our name. While IVANTATTOO is a name associated with the times that brought us to where we are today, we feel it is time for a change that better captures our current identity. Therefore, we have decided on the name (Ivan) TATTO & LASER Košice.
The year 2024 is a year of significant changes and new beginnings for us. We are excited about what the future holds and look forward to better serving our clients and community. We believe these changes will propel us to a new level and allow us to continue growing and improving. We look forward to welcoming you to our new premises and with our new services.
