Piercing AfterCare

The same principle applies as with tattoos—care for your piercing does not end when you leave our studio. Below are guidelines on how to care for a fresh piercing. Piercing care is mainly about maintaining increased hygiene in the first few days. During this time, it is essential to use antibacterial soap, avoid contact with dirty objects, refrain from swimming in lakes and pools, avoid touching the area with dirty hands, and protect it from mechanical damage. Do not scratch. Do not remove scabs.

AFTERCARE

  1. Immediately after the piercing is done, the area may become red or swollen. Don’t worry, this is a normal reaction that should disappear within a maximum of three days.
  2. Care for the piercing is necessary— we recommend the skincare products available for purchase at our studio.
  3. Avoid touching the piercing with your hands, and prevent any contact with foreign objects for at least one week. Also, avoid any mechanical stress, pulling, or exposure to similar influences.
  4. The healing time for a piercing depends directly on its location, for example:
    • tongue, eyebrow, nose, ear: about 2 weeks
    • lips, chin, navel: about 4 to 6 weeks
  5. The piercing should not be removed for at least 1 month, or until it has fully healed. There is a risk that it may not be possible to reinsert it into its original position.
  6. The piercing site should be washed with antibacterial soap.

We also offer titanium jewelry, which does not cause allergic reactions like other materials such as surgical steel, silver, or gold.
